Cookie & Local Storage Policy

Last updated: [DATE]

Template notice. Template only, not legal advice. Verify the storage list below matches your live site and have it reviewed.

This policy explains how dppespr.com uses cookies and similar browser storage technologies. Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the EU ePrivacy rules, non-essential storage requires your consent; storage that is strictly necessary to deliver a service you have requested does not.

1. What we use

dppespr.com does not use advertising or third-party analytics cookies. We use a small amount of strictly necessary browser storage to operate the Service, plus one optional referral cookie that we set only with your consent:

NameTypePurposeCategory
dpp_tokenLocal storageKeeps you signed in to your accountStrictly necessary
dpp_admin_keySession storageAuthenticates administrators (admin panel only)Strictly necessary
dpp_consentLocal storage / cookieRemembers your cookie choiceStrictly necessary
aff_refCookie (60 days)Credits a referred signup to the affiliate whose link you usedNon-essential (consent)

The strictly necessary items above are exempt from the consent requirement because they are needed to deliver the Service you request. The affiliate referral cookie is non-essential: we set it only if you choose "Accept all" in our cookie banner, and never if you choose "Essential only" or make no choice.

2. Third-party content

Our pages load front-end libraries from content delivery networks (unpkg, Cloudflare and the Tailwind CDN). These providers may receive your IP address as part of serving those files. They do not set advertising cookies on our behalf. See our Privacy Policy for more on third parties.

3. Scan analytics are not cookies

When a product passport's QR code is opened, we record limited analytics (approximate location and device) on our servers. This does not rely on cookies or browser storage and is described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Managing storage

You can clear or block cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary storage may stop you from signing in or using parts of the Service.

5. Changes

If we introduce non-essential cookies (for example optional analytics) in future, we will update this policy and request your consent through a cookie banner before setting them.
